Why I Love Platform University

Those of you that have been following X Factor for a while have noticed a major transformation in our online presence during the past week.  If you’re new to our site, welcome!  We are excited about the changes that are in the works, and we owe much of our transformation to what we have learned at Platform University.

Woman in Kitchen smallPlatform University, lead by Michael Hyatt, is a teaching site for businesses and entrepreneurs who need to establish an online presence.  Each month the learning opportunities include interviews with experts in the online space, including social media professionals, marketing professionals, tech people, and many others.  There is also a segment that looks behind the scenes at Platform University to show how they get the work done.  Since joining Platform University last fall, we have learned how to write a value proposition statement, take a better headshot, use scheduling tools for social media, and so much more.  Platform University has given us straight-forward advice, taking us step-by-step through our transformation.  Their brand slogan, "reach more people and create more impact" has been true for us.

Three Changes that we have made, thanks to Platform University

1.  Focused content for our online family.  One of the first things we did was to survey our readers and find out who they are and what they need.  We discovered that most of our readers are professionals who are already trying to fit health and wellness into their lives.  The biggest challenge is finding the time.  So, our focus is to deliver smart, simple wellness solutions that can help professionals make their fitness and health routines easier and more efficient.

2.  Simplifying the website.  We want you to find our products, services and new content quickly and efficiently.  We also want you to feel like you are part of our X Factor Family.  We think the new website should help.  You will find new content there, every day.  You will also find out how we can help you with fitness services, wellness coaching, nutrition assessments, cooking demonstrations, corporate wellness consulting and more.  We hope you take time to glance through our menu of services.

3.  A new strategy for the “Daily Dose.”  We have been writing the "Daily Dose" as an email to our loyal subscribers for more than 4 years.  Some of you have been with use since day one.  Thanks, by the way!  (If you’re new to X Factor, you can read more about the Daily Dose here.)  We have decided that we want to grow our readership, and the best way to do that is to turn the daily email tip into a micro-blog.  You can still get the wellness tip in your inbox every day, but it will also live on our blog so others can find it too.  We think this is a great way to get the word out that taking control of your health is the most important thing you can do for your personal and professional life.  And it doesn’t have to be that difficult.

We want to take this chance to thank Platform University for giving us new insights, new tools, and much needed support.  Their influence has helped us launch the next phase of our business.  If you are looking for a way to build an online presence for yourself or your business, we highly recommend that you check them out.

Great ideas. I am sure these ideas will lead to success. I have used lose it, a food logging app with myself and clients. It is a powerful tool to help people hold themselves accountable to their eating habits.
